Ferjani Sassi’s agent, Mohannad Aoun, shed light on the fine imposed on the Egyptian football club, Zamalek, due to outstanding payments owed to the former Tunisian star.
Speaking exclusively to the “El Rimontada” program on Al-Mehwar channel, Aoun stated, “We obtained a final judgment from FIFA, but not with the value of $900,000, rather $700,000.”
Aoun elaborated, “We are now taking the necessary steps to secure our rights, and the entire matter is with FIFA.
There has been no communication from Zamalek to date, and the matter is left to FIFA.”
He continued, “There is no issue in sitting down with Zamalek officials and discussing mechanisms that facilitate the settlement of our dues.”
Aoun concluded his remarks, saying, “Zamalek is supposed to appeal the penalty in the coming days to avoid any impact on the registration ban once again.”
The revelation brings attention to the ongoing disputes between players and clubs over financial matters, with FIFA acting as the mediator in such cases.
The mention of a potential appeal by Zamalek suggests that the legal proceedings are far from over and may continue to unfold in the coming days.
This situation underscores the broader challenges football clubs face in managing their financial obligations, and it emphasizes the crucial role of organizations like FIFA in adjudicating disputes and ensuring fairness in the sport.
