Hossam El-Mandouh, treasurer of Zamalek SC, has disclosed that the club’s board will soon unveil fresh measures aimed at steering the White Castle out of its ongoing crises.
Zamalek is currently grappling with a severe financial downturn, a situation that has resulted in a mounting number of cases filed against the club at FIFA, now totaling 10.
Speaking to MBC Egypt, El-Mandouh acknowledged the difficult period facing the club and its supporters. “We are doing everything possible to overcome the tough circumstances Zamalek is going through, and we fully understand and appreciate the fans’ frustration,” he said.
Reaffirming the club’s resilience, El-Mandouh added: “Zamalek will never die, just as the fans chanted during the Petrojet match. God willing, we will return stronger, and there are major challenges ahead of us.”
He further revealed that practical steps are in the pipeline. “There are ideas and initiatives that will be announced very soon, which will help rescue Zamalek from its current problems and place the club on a new roadmap,” he noted.
El-Mandouh also addressed the future of head coach Moataz Gamal, describing him as “one of Zamalek’s own.” He explained that the decision on whether Gamal will remain in charge until the end of the season rests with the football management, but stressed the board’s confidence in him. “We trust Moataz Gamal, and he deserves our full support,” he said.
On reports of internal, the treasurer dismissed any rift between the board and John Edward. “There is no disagreement with John Edward. Even if opinions differ during board discussions, we leave meetings united behind the decisions that are made,” he clarified.
