Zamalek welcome Palestine duo to camp ahead of Al Ahly derby

Zamalek have been joined by Palestinian forwards Oday Al-Dabbagh and Adam Kaied at their training camp ahead of Sunday’s Egyptian Premier League meeting with Al Ahly, FilGoal.com has learned.

The match will be played as part of the sixth round of the Egyptian Premier League, with both sides level on 13 points. Zamalek are second on goal difference, while Pyramids lead the table on 15 points.

Angolan forward Chico Banza is expected to arrive on Friday to join his team-mates, although he has already been involved with his national side during the international break.

Al-Dabbagh impressed for Palestine, playing in three matches, scoring four goals and providing one assist. Before the international fixtures, the country’s all-time leading scorer had registered two assists in the league for Zamalek but had not scored.

Kaied started one of Palestine’s matches during the break and appeared as a substitute in two others. He is still waiting to make his first goal contribution for Zamalek this season.

Banza came on as a substitute for Angola in their match against Egypt. He was an unused substitute in Angola’s victory over Malawi on 6 October.

The forward has scored once and set up another goal in four league appearances for Zamalek this season.

Zamalek, managed by Moataz Gamal, are holding a five-day closed training camp as they prepare for the derby.

They entered the camp after a 3-0 defeat by ZED in the Egypt League Cup. Zamalek rested a number of first-team players for that match and gave opportunities to players born in 2007 and 2009.

The club will now turn their attention to the league meeting with Al Ahly, with both teams seeking to move closer to leaders Pyramids.
