Zamalek welcome back Ahmed Rabie and Mohamed Ibrahim before Rwandan Army tie

Ahmed Rabie and Mohamed Ibrahim have returned to Zamalek training ahead of Saturday’s CAF Champions League second-leg meeting with Rwandan Army.

Zamalek will host Rwandan Army in the second leg of their round-of-32 tie at Cairo International Stadium, with the Egyptian side taking a 1-0 lead from the first match.

Rabie took part in the session wearing a protective nose mask after suffering a fracture during the first-leg victory. The injury ruled him out of Zamalek’s most recent fixture against Petrol Asyut in the Egyptian Premier League.

Right-back Mohamed Ibrahim also resumed full team training after recovering from a knee injury.

Zamalek coach Moataz Gamal held a meeting with the players and urged them to put their league commitments aside temporarily as they concentrate on securing progress in the African competition.

Gamal called on his squad to win the second leg and warned them not to rely on the advantage gained in the opening match.

The coach also outlined several tactical details to be applied during the training session before dividing the players into groups for tactical drills.

The workout began with a physical programme supervised by Portuguese fitness coach Nuno Costa Ribeiro. It included running around the pitch and a series of light ball exercises.

Zamalek will face Rwandan Army at 20:00 on Saturday at Cairo International Stadium.
