Egyptian football takes centre stage once again as Zamalek SC and Al Ahly SC prepare to clash in a blockbuster Cairo derby in the Egyptian Premier League.
Zamalek come into the encounter sitting top of the table with 50 points, despite a recent goalless draw against ENPPI SC. The White Knights are edging closer to a long-awaited league title, having last lifted the trophy in 2022.
On the other hand, Al Ahly are enduring a difficult spell after a defeat to Pyramids FC, leaving them third and six points behind their fierce rivals. With Pyramids occupying second place just three points off the summit, the title race remains wide open.
The stakes could not be higher. Al Ahly are not only chasing the title but also fighting to secure a top-two finish that guarantees qualification for the CAF Champions League. Any slip-up could even see them overtaken by Ceramica Cleopatra FC, making this derby a defining moment in their season.
