Zamalek Vice President Hisham Nasr condemns Ahmed Mostafa Zizo’s behavior and criticizes Al Ahly's Khaled Mortagy after Super Cup

Hisham Nasr, vice president of Zamalek, voiced disappointment over Al-Ahly player Ahmed Mostafa Zizo’s conduct during the Egyptian Super Cup award ceremony in Abu Dhabi.

Zizo walked past Nasr on stage without a handshake and greeted Al-Ahly’s Khaled Mortagy instead, sparking anger. Nasr said on TV, “Zizo’s behavior was undisciplined and warrants immediate action by the authorities.”

Nasr insisted that Zizo’s actions go against international sports protocol, questioning, “The protocol for awarding ceremonies is clear. Why doesn’t the FA have rules to penalize childish acts like this?” He urged for Zizo to face the disciplinary committee, even without an official Zamalek complaint: “The incident is obvious and demands punishment.”

Nasr detailed that he had planned to greet Zizo but was surprised by his approach, stating, “I didn’t extend my hand, sensing something strange about his demeanor. I greeted all Al-Ahly players.” Nasr also criticized Mortagy, saying, “I told him the player’s conduct was wrong, and he agreed.” Nasr expressed regret over photos Mortagy posted about the incident, adding, “Such moments must be addressed right away in the sporting system.”

He concluded by reassuring Zamalek fans about efforts to build a stronger team, expressing full faith in interim coach Ahmed Abdelraouf, and pledging to correct mistakes for the club’s future.
