Zamalek to begin Egypt Capital Cup campaign against ZED on 8 October

Zamalek will start their Egypt Capital Cup campaign against ZED after the international break, with the Group Stage match scheduled for Thursday, 8 October.

The international break will run from Monday, 21 September until 6 October.

The fixture will be played at Cairo Stadium, with kick-off set for 20:00. On Sport channels will broadcast the match.

Zamalek head into the break at the top of the league after beating Ghazl El Mahalla 1-0 in their fifth-round match.

That result took them to 13 points from their opening five games, leaving them temporarily ahead of Al Ahly on goal difference. Their position comes before Pyramids’ match against Eastern Company.

ZED, meanwhile, have made a less convincing start to their league campaign. They have collected four points from their first five matches and are 15th in the table, with one win, one draw and two defeats.
