Zamalek is not slowing down after reinforcing its squad with 10 new signings ahead of the Egyptian Premier League kick-off on Friday.
The club is now turning its attention to youth recruitment, eyeing fresh talent beyond the closed senior transfer window.
A club source confirmed to Kooora that the team is exploring the signing of 19-year-old Kenyan right-back Baron Ochieng from Sofapaka. Though the first-team registration window has shut, Zamalek is within its rights to register under-age players until the 18th of this month.
“Zamalek has the right to sign under-age players, and it is possible to add a new under-age foreign player according to the team’s needs,” the source said.
He added that talks are already underway with Ochieng, who would join the youth ranks if the deal is finalized in time.
The club appears to be building for the future while keeping its eyes firmly on present competitions, blending experience with rising prospects in a bold strategy ahead of a highly anticipated season.
