The board of directors of Zamalek Sporting Club, led by Hussein Labib, continues to explore avenues to resolve the ongoing registration crisis before the January winter transfer window.
The Cairo 24 news outlet has learned from its sources that the Zamalek board is facing difficulty in obtaining dollars to settle the transfer fees owed, including a $1.5 million fine to Sporting Lisbon, $270,000 to Ghanaian Achimpong, and $450,000 to Venezuelan club Caracas for the transfer of Samson Akinola to the White Castle.
The Zamalek board is striving to secure the required dollars to lift the registration suspension during the current period, intending to reinforce the team with distinguished players in the ongoing January transfers.
Earlier, the Zamalek board reached a final agreement with Ferreira’s assistants regarding their overdue payments, totaling $90,000.
Zamalek Training Break
The technical staff of Zamalek Club, led by Moatamad Gamal, decided to grant the team’s players a 48-hour break from training.
The team will resume training on the next Saturday at the Abdel-Latif Abu Rujaila Stadium.
The first football team of Zamalek is scheduled to play friendly matches before traveling to the training camp in the United Arab Emirates on January 18.
The team will enter a closed camp in Abu Dhabi and Dubai for ten days, involving two friendly tournaments.
Zamalek Withdraws from the League Cup
Zamalek has officially withdrawn from the League Cup competitions scheduled to commence in January due to the difficulty of participating with the youth team.
Instead, the first team will embark on a training camp in the UAE.
