Zamalek star Mohamed Shehata denies offering himself to Al Ahly amid transfer speculations
Zamalek midfielder Mohamed Shehata has distanced himself from reports claiming he offered his services to Egyptian rivals Al Ahly ahead of a possible move to the Red Devils.
As per sources, Shehata had no involvement in the alleged approach and was surprised to see his name linked with such a move.
The midfielder has not contacted Al Ahly or expressed any desire to join the Cairo giants, adding that he does not understand why he has been dragged into the reports.
Shehata remains settled at Zamalek and is committed to the club, where his current contract runs until the end of the 2027-2028 season.
The midfielder is reportedly focused on his responsibilities with the White Knights and wants to contribute to the team’s progress as they work towards building a competitive side capable of meeting the expectations of their supporters.
The clarification comes amid continued transfer speculation surrounding the two Egyptian giants, with any suggestion of a Zamalek player seeking a move to Al Ahly likely to attract considerable attention.
Meanwhile, Zamalek are preparing for their Egypt Cup round-of-32 encounter against Misr Insurance. Their opponents secured qualification after defeating Pharco on penalties in the preliminary round.
Shehata will be hoping to remain part of Zamalek’s plans as the club turns its attention to the cup competition.
