Zamalek FC has firmly turned down Ahmed Mostafa Zizo’s request to be investigated at the Egyptian Football Association’s (EFA) offices instead of the club’s headquarters.
The club made their position clear in a statement on Tuesday, maintaining that the scheduled session will proceed at their own premises on Wednesday.
According to Zamalek, the EFA had informed them of Zizo’s concerns regarding his safety at the club’s headquarters, which led to his plea for a change of location. However, Zamalek rejected these concerns outright, calling them “baseless.”
Club officials argued that Zizo is using security concerns as an excuse to avoid accountability, particularly after missing training sessions and matches without valid reasons. They emphasized that the winger had already been notified of the original investigation date and venue.
This clash comes at a time of rising tension between the player and the club, with no signs of the standoff easing soon. Zamalek appear determined not to yield to any demands they view as unjustified or disruptive to club discipline.
