Zamalek have taken a firm stance by rejecting Ahmed Mostafa Zizo’s appeal against disciplinary sanctions, confirming the midfielder’s fall from grace within the club.
In an official statement on Tuesday, the club’s board, led by Hussein Labib, announced that Ahmed Mostafa Zizo’s grievance had been dismissed after a full review. The decision follows a hearing where Ahmed Mostafa Zizo attempted to defend his conduct, including skipping training sessions, but failed to provide compelling reasons.
The disciplinary action comes after tensions rose between the player and management, leading to Ahmed Mostafa Zizo’s confirmed exit at the end of the season. Negotiations to renew his contract had collapsed, with speculation mounting over a potential move to fierce rivals Al Ahly.
Zamalek had cited “anti-club media comments” and repeated absences from training as grounds for the sanctions. Initially, Ahmed Mostafa Zizo refused to attend disciplinary sessions but eventually appeared at the third hearing.
