Zamalek slapped with 13th registration ban by FIFA
Egyptian side Zamalek has faced yet another registration suspension from FIFA, marking the 13th such penalty in the club’s history.
The latest suspension stems from unpaid dues to Moroccan side Ittihad Tanger over the transfer of Abdelhamid Maali, adding to a long list of financial obligations that have drawn FIFA sanctions.
Among the outstanding debts triggering past suspensions are:
- Luis Vicente Castro, former goalkeeping coach – $20,000
- João Miguel Guedes, assistant to Jose Gomes – $20,000
- André Stefan Piqué, another assistant – $20,000
- Christian Gross, former head coach – $133,000
- Jose Gomes, former head coach – $120,000
- Ferjani Sassi, former player – $505,000
- Estrela Amadora (Portugal), two installments for Chico Panza – $800,000
- Charleroi (Belgium), transfer fees for Oday Dabbagh – €170,000
- Renaissance Zemamra (Morocco), Salah Mossadek deal – $250,000
- Oleksandriya (Ukraine), two installments for Juan Bezerra – $800,000
- Ibrahima Ndiaye, former Senegalese player – $1.6 million
- Saint-Étienne (France), Mahmoud Bentayk transfer – €500,000
The repeated sanctions underline Zamalek’s ongoing struggles to settle transfer-related debts, highlighting a pattern of financial challenges that have repeatedly drawn FIFA’s intervention.
