Egypt: Injury-hit Zamalek SC to face Ceramica Cleopatra without seven key players

Zamalek are gearing up for a major overhaul just days after lifting the Egyptian Cup.

The club’s Board of Directors, led by Hussein Labib, is expected to announce a series of key decisions next week to reshape the future of the first football team.

According to a club source who spoke to Kooora, the changes will be part of a long-term strategy to reinforce the team’s structure. The Planning Committee, now working closely with newly appointed sports director John Edward, continues to fine-tune its roadmap.

“There are ongoing meetings between Hussein Labib, the sports director, and the members of the planning committee, to complete the discussion of the proposed work plan for the coming period, including the details of the vision presented by Edward,” the source said.

The same source revealed that Labib has issued strict orders preventing board members from commenting on team matters or interfering with Edward’s duties.

Discussions reportedly cover new signings, potential departures, and contract renewals—part of a larger effort to bring stability and meet the expectations of Zamalek’s passionate supporters.
