Zamalek has formally contacted the United States Embassy in Egypt to verify the details surrounding Ahmed Mostafa Zizo’s travel visa, as questions grow over the player’s intentions and possible move to rivals Al Ahly.
A club source confirmed that the management acted swiftly after Zizo appeared for an internal hearing on Saturday, accompanied by his lawyer, Ashraf Abdel Aziz. The winger told Zamalek officials that he secured the visa strictly for tourism.
“Zizo confirmed in today’s interrogation session that he obtained a visa to travel to America for tourism purposes only, so Zamalek immediately sent a letter to the American Embassy in Egypt to inquire about the truth of what the player said and to confirm the type of his visa,” the source told Kooora.
The timing of the visa has fueled speculation, especially with the FIFA Club World Cup set to take place next month in the United States. Rumors suggest Zizo may have already struck a deal with Al Ahly, igniting further tension between the rival clubs.
