Zamalek secure signing of Senegalese striker Sidy Ndiaye
Zamalek have officially completed the signing of Senegalese striker Sidy Ndiaye, the 19-year-old talent from Guédiawaye, marking their fourth major signing of the summer transfer window. Ndiaye has penned a four-year contract with the Cairo giants, tying him to the club until the summer of 2028.
The young forward will be registered as an under-23 player, in line with Egyptian Premier League regulations that allow clubs to sign up to three foreign players under the age of 23.
Ndiaye’s addition is expected to bring youthful energy and fresh attacking options to Zamalek’s squad as they gear up for a challenging season.
Ndiaye made his mark with Guédiawaye last season after being promoted to the first team.
Despite limited appearances, the striker’s potential was clear—he netted five goals in just eight matches, a performance that attracted Zamalek’s attention.
His strong showing also earned him a spot in Senegal’s under-20 national team, further highlighting his growing reputation as one of the country’s rising stars.
Zamalek, known for developing young talent, see Ndiaye as a key part of their future.
He is expected to fill the gap left by Jamal Mutyaba, after the club decided not to make the Ugandan striker’s loan deal permanent.
Ndiaye’s versatility and knack for finding the back of the net will be crucial as the team looks to maintain its competitive edge both domestically and in continental competitions.
This signing is Zamalek’s latest move in an active summer transfer window.
The club has already bolstered its ranks with the acquisitions of AS Saint-Étienne’s Mahmoud Bentayg, Palestinian forward Omar Faraj, and Enppi’s Mohamed Hamdi.
These signings reflect the club’s intent to strengthen its squad in anticipation of a busy season ahead.
Zamalek’s campaign begins with a CAF Confederations Cup round of 32 clash against Kenyan side Police FC.
The team will also face their fierce rivals, Al Ahly, in the highly anticipated CAF Super Cup on September 27, adding to the urgency of getting their new recruits integrated quickly.
With Ndiaye joining an already strengthened lineup, Zamalek are hoping to build on last season’s success and challenge for both domestic and international glory.
The young striker’s development will be closely watched as he seeks to make an immediate impact at one of Africa’s most storied football clubs.
