Omar Gaber has committed his future to Zamalek SC, signing a contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2027.
The Egyptian right-back, who initially joined the White Knights in September 2022, was due to see his contract expire in 2025, but the club has moved swiftly to secure his services for an additional two years.
A key player for Zamalek
Gaber’s renewal comes as part of Zamalek’s strategy to retain key players ahead of the coming seasons.
The 33-year-old has been a vital asset on the right flank, demonstrating both defensive solidity and attacking prowess.
Club president Hussein Labib and his management team were keen to ensure that his experience and versatility remained within the squad.
Consistent performances under José Peseiro
Under the guidance of Portuguese coach José Peseiro, Gaber has played an instrumental role in the team’s campaign.
This season, he has made 26 appearances, registering five assists and accumulating 2,224 minutes of playing time.
His ability to contribute both defensively and offensively has made him a crucial component of Zamalek’s setup.
Strengthening the squad
Gaber’s extension follows Zamalek’s recent move to make Moroccan defender Mahmoud Bentayg’s stay permanent, after reaching an agreement with AS Saint-Étienne.
These moves highlight the club’s intent to build a stable and competitive squad capable of challenging for domestic and continental honors.
With Gaber’s future now secured, Zamalek fans will be eager to see him continue his strong performances and help lead the club to further success in the seasons ahead.
