Zamalek SC players voice concerns over unpaid wages ahead of Al-Masry clash

Zamalek SC are grappling with a mounting financial crisis as players lodge formal complaints over unpaid wages just days before their Nile Premier League encounter with Al-Masry.

The Cairo giants, who are set to face Al-Masry on Saturday at Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria, find themselves under intense pressure off the pitch.

Egyptian journalist Ibrahim Abdel Gawad revealed on On Sport channel that the squad has submitted an official complaint to the club demanding overdue financial entitlements.

Zamalek club is facing a financial crisis before the match against Al-Masry Port Said, and the players have filed a complaint to officially receive their late financial dues from the club during the recent period, Abdel Gawad confirmed.

The broadcaster further explained that uncertainty reigns inside the club regarding when payments will be made.

A scheduled instalment intended to settle part of the players salaries was expected before the weekend fixture, but no confirmation has yet been provided by the board.

Things are currently unclear within Zamalek regarding the issue of overdue player dues. A payment was supposed to be made to the players before the match against Al-Masry SC, which is scheduled for next Saturday evening, Abdel Gawad added.

The financial turmoil comes at a delicate moment for the White Knights, who are already struggling to regain form on the field.

Their most recent league outing ended in disappointment, a 2-1 defeat to Wadi Degla at Al-Salam Stadium, a result that has increased pressure on both the players and technical staff.
