Zamalek SC remain confident of a favourable outcome in their ongoing dispute with former player Ahmed Mustafa “Zizo”, according to a club source.
The source expressed full confidence in the strength of Zamalek’s legal position and in the impartiality of the Football Association’s Players’ Affairs Committee, following the complaint the club lodged against the player.
He explained that Zamalek’s decision to remain silent publicly on the matter was deliberate, as the club had already submitted all relevant papers and documents proving the validity of its claim for appropriate compensation. This, he said, is based on several violations committed by the player during his time at the club, prior to his move to Al Ahly.
According to the source, the final hearing to consider the complaint was held on November 30, 2025, during which Zamalek presented all documents supporting its case.
The source further revealed that the club submitted a comprehensive final file to the Players’ Affairs Committee, including evidence of Zamalek’s entitlement to a share of advertising, promotional and media revenues linked to the player. A CD containing complete records of those materials was also handed over.
Zamalek’s response, he added, relied on officially documented records at the Football Association relating to the player’s contract registration fees, which contradict Zizo’s claim that he is owed 85 million pounds. To reinforce its position, the club submitted contracts of other players signed during the same period and drafted under the same structure, showing that the total contract value was stated in one clause, with a separate clause detailing the net amount after the deduction of taxes and applicable fees.
The source concluded by noting that the club’s stance is further supported by statements from former first-team football director Abdel Wahed El-Sayed, who confirmed that the player received all his contractual entitlements through one of the club’s supporting businessmen. He stressed that the player’s claims are inaccurate and represent an attempt to obtain funds from Zamalek without legal basis.
