Zamalek reject two Al Ahly Benghazi bids for Ahmed Fattouh

Zamalek have rejected two offers from Libyan club Al Ahly Benghazi for defender Ahmed Fattouh, according to the player’s agent, Samir Salah.

Fattouh is currently in the final season of his time with Zamalek, despite Al Ahly Benghazi meeting the Egyptian club’s financial demands for the 28-year-old.

“Al Ahly Benghazi contacted me about signing Fattouh and submitted an offer of $500,000 to Zamalek for the player,” Salah told FilGoal.com.

“Zamalek officials asked for the offer to be increased to $700,000 before agreeing to sell him.”

The Libyan side subsequently raised its bid to the requested figure, but Zamalek still refused to sanction Fattouh’s departure.

“The Libyan club did increase its offer to the required amount, but Zamalek officials rejected the sale of Fattouh,” Salah added.

“It is strange, especially since the Libyan club agreed to Zamalek’s financial demands. Hussein Labib, the club president, told me that he had rejected Fattouh’s departure from the team at this time.”

Libya’s registration window for new signings is expected to close on 6 October.

Fattouh is currently with the Egypt squad preparing for their match against South Sudan in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Salah had previously revealed that Zamalek rejected offers from Saudi Arabian club Al Fateh and Turkey’s Konyaspor for Fattouh during the summer after the 2026 World Cup.

The full-back has featured in midfield for Zamalek in their recent matches, with Morocco international Mahmoud Bentayg operating at left-back.

Fattouh is one of Zamalek’s captains and has made 212 appearances for the club. He has scored seven goals and provided 22 assists.

During his time with Zamalek, he has won eight trophies: three Egyptian Premier League titles, three Egyptian Super Cup titles and two Confederation Cup titles.
