Zamalek reduce FIFA registration bans to five cases as Egyptian giants near transfer freedom

Egyptian giants Zamalek SC have made significant progress in their efforts to resolve their FIFA registration ban issues, with the club now left with only five outstanding cases to settle.

The Cairo-based club has successfully cleared several financial disputes that previously resulted in restrictions being placed on their ability to register new players, reducing the number of active FIFA cases from 18 to just five.

The development marks a major step forward for Zamalek, who have been working to resolve their outstanding obligations and restore their full transfer rights ahead of upcoming competitions.

According to FIFA’s registration bans list, Zamalek still have five active cases under review, all involving male football matters under the jurisdiction of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The remaining disputes continue to prevent the club from having complete freedom in the transfer market, but the sharp reduction in cases highlights the progress made by the club’s administration in addressing previous financial challenges.

Zamalek’s registration ban has been a major concern as the club looks to strengthen its squad and compete domestically and on the continental stage. Clearing the remaining cases will be a priority as they aim to regain the ability to sign and register new players without restrictions.

The five-time CAF Champions League winners are expected to continue negotiations with affected parties in a bid to fully resolve the outstanding matters and bring an end to the FIFA sanctions.
