Fresh from their opening win, Zamalek are keeping their feet firmly on the ground as they prepare for Saturday’s clash with Al Mokawloon Al Arab SC in the Egyptian Premier League.
Belgian coach Yannick Ferreira insists the team’s focus is on constant improvement rather than living off past victories.
Ferreira explained that he always holds a video meeting with the players to review the previous game, no matter the outcome. “It’s easier to analyze the match after a win, but the most important thing is to stay humble, because what happened in the previous match won’t help us win the next one,” he said.
He stressed that every opponent matters equally. “Every match is important for Zamalek, whether against Al Ahly or El Mokawloon.”
The coach hinted at possible changes to the squad, saying his choices depend on form, fitness, and tactics, not just tradition.
Ferreira praised the fans for their energy in the first round, describing their early songs and post-match celebrations as unforgettable moments he hopes to experience many more times this season.
