Zamalek has chosen a firm path in its latest chapter of leadership battles, filing a formal complaint against former president Mortada Mansour.
The board of directors, led by Hussein Labib, announced on Friday that all necessary legal steps had been taken, stressing that Mansour is now “isolated” from the club’s affairs.
In its official statement, the board revealed that reports had been submitted to Attorney General Counselor Mohamed Shawky. The move, they explained, was “with the aim of protecting the club’s interests and preserving public funds.”
The message also sought to reassure fans, adding that “attempts to demolish and disrupt the club’s progress will not deter it from fulfilling the dream of the White Castle fans and building the new branch in 6th of October City.”
Mansour, never one to stay silent, fired back with a furious response on his Facebook page. “I received a worthless piece of paper, like a toilet paper, containing inappropriate language and filth, just like the person who wrote it,” he wrote.
“What is this statement, you bunch of thieves? And I’m isolated! Wait for me tomorrow with audio, video, and documents, not false statements.”
