Amr Yasser, forward for the Zamalek team born in 2005, issued an apology to the White Knights’ fans today, Wednesday, for his behavior during the match against Al Ahly in the Republic Championship yesterday.
Yasser became agitated after being substituted in the first half and headed towards the dressing room.
However, Abdelwahid El-Sayed, the team’s football director, spoke with him and returned him to the substitutes’ bench.
In a statement on his Instagram account, Yasser said: “To the Zamalek fans, the board of directors, and all those responsible for managing football at the club…
I apologize for my reaction during my substitution in the match against Al Ahly, and God willing, such behavior will not occur from me again.”
He added: “I apologize to the 2005 team, the coaching staff led by Captain Mohamed Abdullah, my teammates, and I also extend my apology to Captain Abdelwahid El-Sayed, the role model.
I reiterate that this was merely a moment of on-field emotion and will not happen again.”
Al Ahly secured victory over Zamalek in the youth summit, defeating their rival 2-0.
