Zamalek is making urgent moves to strengthen its last line of defense as uncertainty surrounds the future of first-choice goalkeeper Mohamed Sobhi.
The club has entered negotiations with El Gouna to sign promising shot-stopper Mohamed Alaa, signaling a proactive approach in the summer transfer window.
A source close to the club revealed that talks with El Gouna are ongoing, with Alaa already expressing interest in donning the white jersey.
The insider told Kooora, “Negotiations are still ongoing between Zamalek and El Gouna, and the White Knights have officially begun negotiations after obtaining the player’s approval.”
Zamalek recently added experienced goalkeeper Mahdi Soliman from Al-Ittihad Alexandria, pointing to a clear strategy to fortify their goalkeeping department ahead of the new season.
The same source confirmed Alaa is eager to make the move but wants all terms settled between both clubs first.
These developments are seen as preparations in case Sobhi completes a widely speculated switch to Pyramids FC before the window closes.
