Zamalek SC is edging closer to a familiar reunion as the club pushes to re-sign former right-back Ahmed Eid.
The 24-year-old, who rose through Zamalek’s youth ranks, is currently at Al-Masry, but his contract expires next June. Talks between both clubs have reached an advanced stage, with Zamalek eager to bring him back into the fold.
Sources reveal that Al-Masry has agreed in principle to sell the remainder of Eid’s contract. In return, the Port Said club has set its sights on Zamalek goalkeeper Mohamed Sobhi, with plans to fill the gap left by Mahmoud Gad, who is refusing to extend his stay.
Eid, once tipped to join Al-Ahly earlier in the summer, saw that move fall apart. Zamalek now stands as his most likely destination.
With Hamza Mathlouthi departing after his contract expired and Ahmed Mahmoud loaned to Al-Ittihad Alexandria, Zamalek’s right-back position remains thin, making Eid’s return a timely and strategic option.
The deal is not done yet, but momentum is clearly building.
