Zamalek have taken swift action after another frustrating result, deciding to part ways with Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro.
The 2-2 draw against National Bank in the fourth round of the Egyptian Premier League was the final blow, as the team failed to impress in most competitions this season.
Club sources confirmed that the board reached a decision to sack Peseiro and bring in a local coaching team. Egyptian manager Ayman Al-Ramadi has been selected to lead the next chapter for the White Knights.
Hazem Fattouh, Al-Ramadi’s agent, told Kooora that he and the coach will return to Cairo on Wednesday to meet with Zamalek officials and finalize the agreement.
Al-Ramadi has reportedly accepted the role and stepped away from his position as a technical analyst with Abu Dhabi Sports Channel to take up the offer.
He has already picked his team, which includes Ahmed Bibo and Ahmed Samir, both expected to play key roles in reshaping Zamalek’s season.
The club hopes the local touch will bring better results on the pitch.
