Zamalek midfielder Juan Bezerra ruled out of Super Cup final
Just days before the highly anticipated Egyptian Super Cup final, Zamalek has suffered a major setback.
Midfielder Juan Bezerra has officially been ruled out of the final against Al Ahly after failing to recover from a nagging muscle injury. The club’s medical team preferred not to risk his health, especially with such a crucial match on the line.
This loss puts extra pressure on Zamalek’s interim coach, Ahmed Abdel Raouf, who must now find a way to replace Bezerra in one of the season’s biggest games. Abdel Raouf shared his feelings after reaching the final, saying, “The match was one of the toughest encounters we have played recently… We were facing a strong team and prepared ourselves mentally and physically in an intensive way.” He admitted, “I haven’t slept for three days” as he prepares the team for this challenge.
Despite adversity, Abdel Raouf highlighted the strong spirit of his squad and their determination to win. Zamalek has turned their focus to recovery and strategic preparation, dividing the squad for gym and tactical sessions to maximize readiness for the clash with rivals Al Ahly.
