Juan Bezerra faces late fitness test ahead of Belouizdad clash

Zamalek coach Moataz Gamal is not ruling out influential midfielder Juan Bezerra from playing a part in their decisive CAF Confederation Cup semifinal return clash against CR Belouizdad.

The Egyptian giants, who carry a narrow 1-0 advantage from the first leg, are preparing for a tense encounter at Cairo Stadium, with qualification for the final hanging in the balance.

Bezerra experienced discomfort in his hamstring during the intense first leg clash at the Nelson Mandela Stadium, Algiers and had to be replaced.

Ahead of the clash, Gamal has disclosed the enterprising midfielder faces a late fitness test regarding his availability for the clash.

“Juan Bezerra underwent intensive therapeutic and rehabilitation training with the medical staff, and the player’s position regarding his presence in the match will be determined in light of today’s training.” He said.

Bezerra’s availability for the upcoming clash remain uncertain, with the final decision expected after the team’s last training session on Thursday. His potential absence or inclusion could prove significant as Zamalek look to finish the job against a Belouizdad side desperate to overturn the deficit.

Zamalek remain cautious despite their first-leg win, fully aware that the tie is far from decided. The technical bench is keen to ensure all players are physically ready, especially with the high intensity expected from the visitors.

With a place in the final at stake, all eyes will be on the final training session—and whether Bezerra can make a timely return to bolster Zamalek’s push for continental glory.
