Zamalek’s long-serving medical head, Dr. Mohamed Osama, has stepped down after eight years with the club’s first team.
His exit ends a significant era behind the scenes at Zamalek.
Osama confirmed the news through his official Facebook page, writing, “After eight proud years of working as the head of the Zamalek club’s medical staff, I have decided that the time has come to begin a new phase in my career.”
He reflected on his journey, saying, “My tenure at Zamalek has been full of challenges, successes, and experiences that I am proud of. I would like to thank the board of directors, the players, the technical staff over the years, the administrative staff, and the people in charge.”
He continued with heartfelt words: “I would like to sincerely thank the medical staff, our partners in success for many years. Finally, no words can describe my love and appreciation for the Zamalek fans for all their love and support. Thank you very much to each and every one of you. This is not the end, but a new beginning, God willing.”
His departure, unexpected by many, ends a period of loyalty during which he declined offers from rival clubs.
