Egyptian Premier League giants Zamalek SC are firm in their stance to retain young defender Hossam Abdul-Majeed during the January transfer window, as part of their strategy for the 2024-2025 season.
The 23-year-old defender has impressed with his performances in Zamalek colours, catching the attention of suitors, including Club Tijuana of Mexico.
The Mexican club, under the influence of Juan Carlos Osorio, has expressed interest in acquiring Abdul-Majeed. Osorio, a former Zamalek coach and now a director at Club Tijuana, holds the player in high regard and has made efforts to bring him to his current team.
Despite a previous failed attempt, Club Tijuana recently returned with a fresh proposal involving a loan deal with an option to buy.
However, Zamalek’s management appears uninterested in entertaining the offer, emphasizing their commitment to retaining Abdul-Majeed as a key part of their squad.
The White Knights are now preparing to initiate negotiations for a contract extension with the talented defender. While the club remains resolute in its decision, insiders suggest a substantial offer could potentially alter the current situation.
For now, Hossam Abdul-Majeed remains an integral part of Zamalek’s ambitions, as the club continues to assert its dominance in the Egyptian Premier League.
