Zamalek fans left searching for answers as eight players miss Pharco clash
Zamalek step into their Egyptian Premier League meeting with Pharco carrying more questions than answers, as eight players have been left out of the squad for Tuesday’s match at Al-Salam Stadium.
Fans were left puzzled by the absences, but a source within the club shared the reasons behind the coach’s choices.
Belgian coach Yannick Ferreira decided to leave out Abdel Hamid Maali, Seif El-Jaziri, Amr Nasser, Ahmed Hamdy, Ahmed Rabie, Mahmoud Gehad, Mohamed El-Sayed, and goalkeeper El-Mahdi Soliman.
“Ferreira excluded more than one player for technical reasons related to the recent group training sessions, including Mohamed El-Sayed, Abdel Hamid Maali, Seifeddine Jaziri, Amr Nasser, and Mahdi Soliman,” a club source told Kooora.
“The continued exclusion of Ahmed Hamdi for administrative reasons and the failure to renew his contract, as the player was previously referred for investigation due to his statements against the board of directors during his trip to check on his health following the cruciate ligament surgery.
“Mahmoud Jihad’s situation is still unclear, as the player participated in the last training session after recovering from his injury and was excluded for technical reasons, while Ahmed Rabie is suffering from an adductor muscle injury.”
