Zamalek SC is dealing with an unexpected stir following left-back Ahmed Fattouh’s recent appearance at a concert alongside Al Ahly’s Emam Ashour.
The incident has raised eyebrows within the club’s training camp in the New Administrative Capital, casting doubt over Fattouh’s stated reasons for leaving the squad.
The club’s football director, Abdel Nasser Mohamed, initially explained Fattouh’s absence, saying the player had received permission to visit a sick uncle in the hospital. But with footage surfacing of Fattouh attending the concert, Zamalek is reportedly weighing the option of launching a formal investigation.
Abdel Nasser is now considering submitting a memorandum to the club’s board that could lead to disciplinary action.
“There is no dispute with Fattouh, and the circulating news about a dispute or quarrel is completely baseless,” Abdel Nasser clarified on the club’s official site.
He emphasized that Fattouh had been present at the camp initially and left with approval. “A rehabilitation program was put in place for him. He will return to the camp within the next 48 hours,” he added.
