Zamalek’s winning start to the Egyptian Premier League may have to continue without their new midfield signing Ahmed Rabie.
The White Castles’ fans, who were eager to see the summer signing in action, will have to wait longer as he remains sidelined.
Rabie has been out since picking up an anterior muscle injury during the team’s camp before the league kicked off. His absence was felt in the opener against Ceramica Cleopatra, though Zamalek still secured a 2-0 victory to begin their campaign on a positive note.
A club source explained to Kooora that the midfielder is still limited to rehabilitation work. “Ahmed Rabie is still undergoing rehabilitation training due to his anterior muscle injury in the White Castle’s camp before the start of the league,” the source said.
The same source added that Rabie has not yet rejoined group training and will have a medical check on Thursday. “The most likely scenario is that Rabie will miss the match against El Mokawloon El Arab,” they noted.
