Zamalek reduced the intensity of their training session on Saturday as they prepare to face Modern Sport in a friendly on Sunday.
The session, led by head coach Moatamed Gamal, took place at the training ground at Air Defence Stadium. The coaching staff opted for a lighter workload to minimise the risk of fatigue before the upcoming match.
Fitness coach Nuno Costa Ribeiro oversaw the physical section, which began with the players running around the pitch before they completed a series of light ball exercises.
The squad was then divided into groups for tactical drills as preparations continued for Zamalek’s upcoming fixtures. Members of the coaching staff regularly stopped the session to provide instructions and guidance to the players.
Zamalek ended the workout with a small-sided match between two teams, allowing the players to put into practice the ideas covered during the tactical work.
The friendly against Modern Sport is scheduled for Sunday and forms part of Zamalek’s preparations for their next competitive matches.
Zamalek will face ZED on 7 October at Arab Contractors Stadium in the Egypt Capital Cup.
They will then meet Al Ahly in a highly anticipated league fixture on 11 October, with the match forming part of the sixth round of the competition.
Pyramids currently lead the league table with 15 points, two points ahead of both Al Ahly and Zamalek.
