Mexican side Club Tijuana has set its sights on signing Zamalek defender Hossam Abdelmaguid during the January transfer window.
Reports indicate that the potential move is being driven by Tijuana’s head coach, Juan Carlos Osorio, who previously managed Zamalek and is familiar with Abdelmaguid’s talents.
The initial proposal from Tijuana involved a $900,000 permanent transfer, which was declined by Zamalek. In response, the club offered a loan deal valued at $500,000 with an option to buy.
While Zamalek is reviewing the revised offer, sources suggest they are leaning towards rejecting it, instead exploring the possibility of an improved and extended contract for Abdelmaguid.
The 23-year-old defender has been a key figure for Zamalek, making 99 appearances and scoring eight goals. Renowned for his versatility, Abdelmaguid excels as a central defender and defensive midfielder. His current market value is estimated at $365,000, according to Transfermarkt.
Zamalek remains resolute in its stance, making it clear that the club will only entertain offers that meet its valuation of the player.
