Zamalek have confirmed the transfer of Brazilian forward Juan Bezerra to UAE club Shabab Al Ahli Dubai after the player completed his medical.
The Egyptian club said an agreement had been reached after the conditions they set at the beginning of negotiations during this year’s summer transfer window were met.
“Zamalek’s board of directors, headed by Hussein Labib, announces that an agreement has been reached over the transfer of Brazilian Juan Bezerra, a first-team footballer, to UAE club Shabab Al Ahli Dubai, after the demands set by Zamalek when negotiations began in this year’s summer transfer window were fulfilled,” the club said through its media centre.
Zamalek had agreed several days earlier to allow Bezerra to travel to the UAE for his medical examination. He passed the assessment before the transfer was formally announced.
Bezerra arrived back in Cairo on Saturday evening after previously refusing to return for the club’s pre-season training camp. His decision was linked to his desire to move to Shabab Al Ahli Dubai.
Zamalek had made the player’s return to Cairo a condition before entering into any discussions about his future with the club.
The club had also increased its demands during negotiations after Shabab Al Ahli Dubai raised their offer to sign the player.
Bezerra made 44 appearances in all competitions for Zamalek last season, scoring eight goals and providing 12 assists.
He won the Egyptian league with Zamalek last season but lost the Confederation Cup final with the club on penalties.
