Zamalek SC head coach Moataz Gamal expressed his delight following his team’s 5-2 triumph over Ismailia Electricity in the 17th round of the Egyptian Premier League, held at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium.
Reflecting on the victory, Gamal highlighted the challenges his side faced.
“Thank God for the win. Today we were missing 14 players—no club in the world is expected to perform and win under such circumstances,” he said.
“Our priority is always the interest of Zamalek, and I sincerely thank the players for their dedication and effort during this period, which has been reflected in both performance and results.”
Gamal also touched on the team’s upcoming schedule, noting, “Tomorrow we have a long journey to Zambia, with a regular flight that includes a transit. I am grateful to the players for their commitment despite these demands.”
Acknowledging the support of the fans, he added, “Zamalek supporters have always stood by us, traveling even in challenging weather conditions. Their loyalty is unmatched, and I thank them for their unwavering encouragement.”
The coach praised his squad for adapting to unusual circumstances on the pitch.
“Many players had to play out of their usual positions, and some were not fully recovered from injury. Despite these pressures, the team delivered the performance required.”
Looking ahead, Gamal vowed continued determination: “We aim to win all upcoming matches. Although most of today’s absentees will not feature against Zesco United, we remain focused on victory. As injured players return, we will have stronger options, with versatile players like Adam Kayed joining forces with Abdullah Al-Saeed, Mohamed El-Sayed, and Hamdi to bolster the squad.”
