Zamalek head coach Ayman El-Ramady is pushing through a personal injury setback to keep his team sharp ahead of a crucial clash against Petrojet.
During a pre-match press conference on Friday, El-Ramady revealed he picked up a knee injury during the team’s training camp in Ismaily.
Despite suffering a tear and partial cut in his knee cartilage, the coach continues to oversee preparations, albeit from the sidelines. He confirmed plans for knee surgery after the Egyptian Cup final against Pyramids on June 5.
El-Ramady labeled the Petrojet match as a key test before the Cup final and praised the team’s recent form. “The return of the injured players is important to complete the team’s ranks,” he noted, expecting most of them back within a week.
The training camp, initially set for four days, was shortened to two. El-Ramady remains focused on resolving deeper issues affecting player fitness, refusing to fault the medical staff and calling for improvements in team management and structure.
Zamalek continue to fine-tune their squad with optimism ahead of upcoming challenges.
