Zamalek close to naming Yannick Ferrera as new head coach
Zamalek SC is closing in on a new chapter as the club edges toward appointing Belgian manager Yannick Ferrera as head coach for the new season.
The Cairo giants have been seeking stability after parting ways with Ayman El Ramady, who exited the club on a high after leading Zamalek to the Egypt Cup title over Pyramids FC.
A source inside Zamalek confirmed to Kooora.com that sporting director John Edward has settled on Ferrera as the new technical director.
“John Edward has finalized his agreement with Belgian Yannick Ferrera to be Zamalek’s technical director for the new season,” the source said.
The same source added that a meeting involving Ferrera, Edward, and club officials will be held before the week ends to wrap up the deal.
“Yannick Ferrera welcomed the opportunity to join Zamalek, and an initial agreement was reached between the two parties on the financial compensation.”
If finalized, Ferrera’s arrival could mark a bold new era for the club as it looks to build on last season’s cup success.
