Zamalek clarifies Nabil Emad Donga’s injury and addresses Salah Mossadak’s contract crisis
Zamalek’s football director Abdel Nasser Mohamed gave an update on two of the club’s most pressing concerns, the injury to midfielder Nabil Emad Donga and the contract dispute with Moroccan player Salah Mossadak.
Abdel Nasser dismissed rumors about the severity of Donga’s injury, which occurred during the Confederation Cup match against Zesco. “Donga’s injury is not an ACL tear. We reject these rumors and will wait for final medical tests to assess his condition,” he reassured worried fans.
Zamalek’s head of medical, Dr. Gerard Osu Manzanet, revealed that scans showed a sprain in Donga’s knee ligament. The player has left the hospital and immediately started intensive therapy to prepare for a return to training and matches.
On the other front, the club confirms receiving official warning from Mossadak, who seeks overdue payments. His agent sent an ultimatum to the club, with the threat of contract termination should his wages remain unpaid. Mossadak, who joined from Rajaa Zemamra last winter, has played 16 matches for Zamalek but now faces an uncertain future.
The club recently held an emotional ceremony for late star Mohamed Sabri, strengthening community bonds and commemorating his legacy. Amid these challenges, Zamalek is determined to resolve financial issues and support its players.
