Zamalek have confirmed that striker Nasser Mansi will return to first-team training on Monday after completing the punishment imposed on him following a goal celebration against Rwandan Army.
Mansi will take part in the session at the training ground of Air Defence Stadium as Zamalek prepare for their upcoming Egyptian Premier League match against Al Mokawloon Al Arab.
The decision was made by head coach Mo’tamed Gamal and football director Abdel Nasser Mohamed, with the club stating that Mansi’s involvement in future matches will depend on the technical staff.
FilGoal.com had previously reported that Mansi would rejoin training on Monday following the decision by Gamal and Mohamed. Zamalakawy, the club’s application, subsequently announced his return.
Mansi scored Zamalek’s only goal in their 1-0 victory over Rwandan Army in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League. He was then suspended because of his celebration after finding the net.
Mohamed also imposed a substantial financial fine on the player for his actions during the match.
Mansi apologised to Gamal, Mohamed and his team-mates during the squad’s dinner after the game. He accepted the punishment and confirmed that decision in a video recorded immediately after the match.
The striker also issued an apology through his personal Instagram account.
