Zamalek has taken another confident step in rebuilding its squad, landing promising defender Mohamed Ismail from Zed FC on a five-year deal.
The move was officially unveiled on Wednesday, reinforcing the Cairo giants’ ambitions ahead of the new season.
The club’s sporting director, John Edward, played a key role in securing the deal, meeting Ismail personally to finalise the contract. The transfer marks yet another addition to a growing list of strategic signings aimed at strengthening the team’s spine and adding depth to key positions.
Ismail expressed pride in joining the White Castle,” describing the transfer as a dream come true. He praised Zamalek’s supporters and pledged to give everything for the badge.
This signing follows a busy window for Zamalek. Recent additions include goalkeeper Mahdi Soliman, Angolan winger Chico Banza, and versatile forward Amr Nasser. The club also snapped up Adam Kayed, Abdel Hamid Maali, Ahmed Sharif, and Ahmed Rabie, while renewing the deal of midfield maestro Abdullah El-Saeed.
With renewed energy and a bolstered squad, Zamalek fans are hopeful of a strong campaign and a return to domestic and continental glory.
