Zamalek SC board member Amr Adham has come to the defense of newly appointed sporting director John Edward, urging critics to hold off on making early judgments about his tenure.
Adham emphasized that rushing to evaluate Edward’s role without allowing time for tangible results is unfair and counterproductive. Drawing a parallel with a previous scenario, he recalled how skeptics once doubted Ayman El Ramady’s appointment, only for him to lead Zamalek to Egyptian Cup glory.
In a post on his official X account, Adham expressed frustration with those he believes are attacking the board’s decisions out of self-interest rather than genuine concern for the club’s progress. He questioned the motives of some former club insiders whose own tenures lacked notable achievements, suggesting their current criticism is more about personal agendas than club loyalty.
Adham concluded that attempts to discredit the club’s current direction only serve to create unnecessary tension and distract from the broader mission of developing a strong and sustainable football system at Zamalek.
