Zamalek assistant coach Ahmed Samir shared insights on the team’s approach following their 2-0 win over Pharco in the final round of the Egyptian Premier League.
While many expected striker Nasser Mansi to feature, especially with the top scorer title still in reach, the technical staff made a calculated call.
“We preferred not to include him due to his lack of 100% fitness,” Samir revealed after the game.
Zamalek wrapped up the season with 47 points, holding on to third place. Mansi stayed on 11 goals, behind National Bank’s Osama Faisal with 12 and title-winner Imam Ashour of Al-Ahly with 13.
Samir praised the team’s recent form and attitude, highlighting the players’ response to tactical instructions and their consistency. He emphasized the value of back-to-back wins and stressed that Zamalek’s experienced squad remains crucial in their progress.
Looking ahead, he confirmed full focus on next Thursday’s Egypt Cup final against Pyramids. The squad, he assured, is fully prepared and determined to bring joy to the club and its supporters.
