Zamalek President Promises 17 New Signings in Transfer Overhaul
Zamalek president Mortada Mansour has announced an ambitious transfer plan, vowing to bring in 17 new players to bolster the squad as the Egyptian giants look to cement their dominance in domestic football.
Speaking to national television, Mansour outlined his vision for the Cairo-based club and revealed that while a significant number of new arrivals are expected, the core of the current team will remain intact.
“The most important thing is to keep the spine of the team,” Mansour said, naming key players such as goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shennawy, Burkina Faso international Koffi, defender Ali Gabr, striker Bassem Morsi, midfielder Tarek Hamed, and forward Khaled Kamar.
Zamalek, who currently top the Egyptian Premier League, are aiming to return to the summit of African football. The club’s last CAF Champions League triumph came in 2002.
While Mansour stopped short of naming all 17 transfer targets, his bold declaration has already sparked excitement — and curiosity — among fans and pundits across the continent.
The summer transfer window promises to be a busy one for the White Knights as they aim to build a squad capable of reclaiming continental glory.
