Could a conflict be brewing between Zakaria Bakkali and PSV? This question arises following revelations in a local newspaper.
Despite a promising start to the season with the Dutch club, the young Belgian international of Moroccan descent has experienced a downturn in fortunes. While Bakkali claims to be content in the Netherlands, he appears dissatisfied with his limited playing time at PSV, having only accumulated 21 minutes of game time in 2014 so far. Seeking more opportunities on the field, he is reportedly hesitant to extend his contract with PSV. This apparent reluctance has irked the club’s leadership, who are now considering transferring him.
A local newspaper, Eindhovens Dagblad, sheds light on Bakkali’s contractual situation: “He has been warned by PSV management that he will be sold if he does not extend his contract. The club is hopeful that he will agree to an extension.” Facing difficulties at PSV, Zakaria Bakkali finds himself at a crossroads. Having left Standard Liège to join PSV Eindhoven in 2008, the young Belgian-Moroccan’s contract runs until June 2015.
