Notably, PSV player Zakaria Bakkali distinguished himself during the match with his agility and dynamic technique, causing significant trouble for Zulte Waregem.
Despite being relatively unknown in Belgium, the 17-year-old Belgian-Moroccan striker is rapidly making a name for himself as one of the rising stars at PSV Eindhoven. Following the game, Bakkali spoke with RTBF, expressing satisfaction with their performance at home. However, he emphasized the need to maintain focus, stating, “We had a good match at home, and I hope we can repeat that next week at Zulte Waregem. We respect this team, and it’s not over yet. We do not yet have qualification in our pocket.” Additionally, Bakkali took the opportunity to appeal to Marc Wilmots, the coach of the Belgium national team.
