Morocco has missed the opportunity to secure the talents of young Zakaria Bakkali for its national team, as the rising star of world football has chosen to represent Belgium. The 17-year-old, who has already made significant contributions to the PSV Eindhoven first team, was called up by Belgium’s coach Marc Wilmots for a friendly match against France on August 14.
Bakkali, a precocious talent, made his debut in the Eredivisie with PSV, scoring a hat-trick in a 4-0 victory over NEC. His impressive performances have garnered attention, and he has opted to play for Belgium instead of Morocco.
