Yvan Maye: French-Ivorian defender joins Monza from Inter U23 on loan

French-Ivorian centre-back Yvan Maye has joined Monza from Inter U23 on a season-long loan, with the move running until 30 June 2027.

The 20-year-old defender, who stands 1.90m tall and is left-footed, switches clubs after progressing through Inter’s youth system and making the step up to the club’s Under-23 side last season. He joined Inter U23 from Inter U20 on 1 August 2025.

Maye has already made an impact during the opening stages of the 2026-27 campaign, scoring once in his Serie C appearance and also featuring in the Coppa Italia Serie C. He started both matches, completing 90 minutes in the league and 79 minutes in the cup.

The move to Monza gives Maye another opportunity to build senior experience after a rapid rise through Italian football. He joined Inter’s academy from Paris FC’s youth set-up in July 2022, having previously been with AS Bondy in France. His transfer to Paris FC had been completed as a free move in the 2021-22 season.

Maye’s honours at youth level include an Italian Youth championship with Inter Primavera in 2024-25 and the Italian Supercoppa Primavera the following season. Those successes came before his promotion into Inter’s senior development structure.

The defender holds both French and Ivorian nationality. He will remain with Monza until the end of the loan period, when he is scheduled to return to Inter U23.
